"Hey! I have an Idea! How about we make a ...!"
This is how some of the twins' conversations start nowadays. I have observed a gradual evolution of a process in Sid and Nidhi's creative ideas recently.
"From our Makerspace" is a section for journaling how their ideas take shape and ends up as a finished product.
We started out "creating/making" with a tinkerbox when they were younger. However the creations with these tinkerbox were expressions of their creativity (not finished products). Since then they have grown to add more materials to their tinkerbox, their ideas are with intent and finished products show their intent.
“What do you do in a makerspace? The simple answer is you make things. Things that you are curious about. Things that spring from your imagination. Things that inspire you and things that you admire. The informal, playful atmosphere allows learning to unfold, rather than conform to a rigid agenda. Making, rather than consuming is the focus. It is craft, engineering, technology and wonder-driven.” Thinkers and Tinkerers
So what is in our makerspace?
Just about anything that is in our house. Starting from their materials in their tinkerbox to our recycling bin, fabrics, tool box , our kitchen utensils, iPads, iPhones, circuit building kits that can help them build their designs.
If you are interested to explore more about making and makerspaces, renovated learning.com is a good place to start.
I intend to fill this space with things that the twins "make" and how they make them.
